Pete Hope, a Founding Director of GO4, has won a national award in recognition of his work over the years helping vulnerable individuals and for his work with GO4 Enterprises! Its a well-deserved award and recognises the positive work done by Pete over many years, not just recently with GO4 Market Cafe and GO4 Cafe on the Rec.

New partnership formed!

GO4 Enterprises is pleased to announce that a partnership agreement has been reached with Worth Unlimited a National Charity working with marginalised young people

With their depth of experience and obvious synergy with GO4 Enterprises, we believe this will forge an exciting relationship that will continue to serve and journey with marginalised people in Colchester, benefitting individuals and enabling an increase in capacity.

GO4 Enterprises will continue to develop its work and support with people experiencing homelessness and ex-offenders via Out4Good, a Colchester based project of Worthunlimited and which GO4 already has strong links with.

GO4 Founder on BBC Essex

Pete Hope, founder of GO4, spoke yesterday about GO4 and Colchestersoup on BBC Essex yesterday morning just after 8:00 am. You can listen to the interview on BBC iPlayer here on the James Whales’s Breakfast Show. You need to go to the 2 hours 10 minutes point in the broadcast (unless you want to listen to the whole programme of course!). There are just 29 days left to listen to it so head over there soon.

GO4 goes up the rankings on RBS SE100 Index!

Our ranking on the respected RBS Social Enterprise Index has gone up! We have moved up from 16th place to 10th overall. Also, we have moved up one place from 2nd place in the Eastern region to 1st place!

GO4 is a social enterprise (community interest company) and over the past 18 months or so we have created 16 jobs. Today is Social Enterprise Day so why not Buy Social today. You can pop into the GO4 Market Cafe in Trinity Church and shop in the market or have a coffee and meal in the cafe, knowing that you are supporting a great cause.

With your support today and every day we can create even more jobs, helping many more local people access work experience, training and employment. you know it makes sense!

GO4 is featured in the SE100 Blog at GO4th and be socially enterprising. As some of you may already know we are ranked quite high on the SE100 Index of Social Enterprises and so its good to be featured in their blog. Currently we are ranked 20th out of 1,374 social enterprises in the main ranking, as well as 2nd out of 65 in the Eastern region rankings. In the Employment and Training sector we are ranked 4th out of 98. Our social impact rating remains 9 out of 10.

GO4 moves up the RBS SE100 ranking again!

GO4 has moved up three places on the RBS SE100 index of social enterprises, from 23rd place to 20th. This is great news and hopefully will help attract investment. In other news, there is a new Minister for Civil Society – Rob Wilson MP was appointed as Minister for Civil Society on 27 September 2014. He is the Conservative MP for Reading East. He replaces Brooks Newmark MP who resigned for personal reasons shortly after visiting GO4 Market Cafe on Social Saturday.

GO4 Social media profile grows

Our Likealyzer ranking continues to rise as we put more effort into our social media activity, so yes it does work! However, a good ranking is not the be all and end all. Rather we want to continue to grow and develop our services and so to that end it was good to have Brooks Newmark MP who is the Minister for Civil Society along on Social Saturday to help raise our profile. It was a very low-key visit and he stayed for just over an hour, chatting to staff, traders, Director and Colne Housing staff. Colne Housing organised the visit as part of their support of our work and it was great success.
