Bike Kitchen Workshops at the GO4 Community Cafe

Our Bike Kitchen Workshops are a place for anyone and everyone to come and learn how to fix their own bikes. With access to work stands, tools, and some spare parts, you’ll have everything you need to get started. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced mechanic, we welcome you to come and join us.

An Open, Safe, and Friendly Space

The Bike Kitchen is an open, safe, and friendly space for people of all backgrounds, races, genders, orientations, and beliefs. We’re here to empower you to learn about bike maintenance and help you fix your own bike.

Get Help When You Need It

We always have at least one mechanic on hand to answer any questions and help you if you get stuck. We believe in empowering you to learn, so we’ll guide you as far as you want to go. And if you need more help, we’ve put together a list of local bike shops and independent mechanics we recommend.

It’s Not a Bike Shop

While we have a small stock of spares, we’re not a bike shop. We don’t carry out repairs for you, and we don’t offer a warranty or guarantee on any work you do. However, we’re here to help and encourage you to take your bike to a local bike shop if you’re not comfortable carrying out the work yourself.

Join Us for a Cuppa

Finally, we have an open-kettle policy, so feel free to bring along your own hot drinks and join us for a cuppa while you work on your bike.

Get Involved Today

Whether you’re looking to learn more about bike maintenance or just want to spend some time in a friendly, supportive environment, the Bike Kitchen Workshops are the place for you. Come along and join us today!

Donations

At Colchester Bike Kitchen, we’re dedicated to empowering people to learn how to fix their own bikes. We provide access to work stands, tools, and some spare parts, as well as at least one mechanic who’s always on hand to answer questions or offer help.

As a community project, we rely on donations to keep our workshops running. By making a donation, you’re helping us provide the tools, equipment, and support needed for people to learn how to maintain and repair their bikes.

If you’d like to make a donation, please get in touch with us. We’ll also be happy to take your contact details so we can keep you updated on the impact of your donation and our overall impact in the community. We’re always looking for ways to improve, and your feedback and support is crucial in helping us do so.
