Invasion Colchester Quiz Night was a great success!

Last night we had a great time at the Invasion Colchester Quiz Night at the GO4 Market Cafe. Plenty of teams took part in several rounds of questions on a wide range of topics including Dr Who. Monies raised will go to the St Helena Hospice and Colchester Hospitals charities.

The cafe is a wonderful venue with a special ambience in the evening. Drinks were provided by Pitfields Organic Beers and food by the GO4 cafe team. Thanks to Janine, Jim and others for making it such as successful event and to everyone who supported it on the night. Hope you had as much fun as we did! In fact, can’t wait until the next one.

Also, don’t forget there is plenty of fun to come this Saturday at Invasion Colchester main event, with lots of exciting things happening in Colchester. GO4 Market Cafe will be hosting some of the activities so don’t be surprised if you spot a Dalek or Cyberman in the wings!

We are members of Social Enterprise UK!

SEUK badge

Social Enterprise UK is the national body for social enterprises. Here is some of the things they do:

  • Run effective campaigns for members and to lobby on the sector’s behalf
  • Carry out robust and respected research to help paint a picture of the UK’s social enterprise movement
  • Build networks between social enterprises
  • Raise the profile of people and social enterprises in the sector

By being members of SEUK, Go4 benefits from being part of a national network of social enterprises and organisations that support social enterprises and their role in society. It helps to promote what we do and raise our profile amongst a wide audience nationally and internationally.

Also it reassures potential supporters and customers that we are a bona fide organisation.

Thank you all our amazing volunteers!

An organisation like GO4 Enterprises relies heavily on volunteers to be able to deliver services to those individual it supports. Over the past 9 months our fantastic team of volunteers have contributed over 800 hours of their precious time. This is worth (at minimum wage rates) over £5,000! Team, we salute you!

Each month our volunteers are currently contributing between 50 and 150 hours a month. This is an enormous contribution of time, energy and skills. We really do appreciate our volunteers and we hope you do too. If you happen to visit our cafe in Trinity Church to buy a coffee or a meal please take the time to thank the person(s) serving you for their contribution to what we do. Even if they are a paid member of staff they always go the ‘extra mile’ and we are just as thankful for each of them, as well as our volunteers.
